Partners
For auction houses and dealers
Valuation Desk is read by people who have inherited, found or collected something and want to know what it is worth. Their enquiries go to one partner saleroom or dealer per category and region. The first partner is live, taking everything the site currently covers. The categories and regions it does not reach are open.
How it works
- A reader sends photographs and a description of one item through the valuation form.
- The enquiry is checked: photographs present, contact details verified, an estimated value above an agreed floor, and a stated intention to sell.
- It reaches a named valuer in the right department, usually within the hour, and the reader gets an acknowledgement the moment it lands.
- It goes to one partner that covers that category and that area. Never to more than one.
- Partners pay a flat, agreed price per qualified enquiry, and tell us what happened to it so the checking improves.
- Nothing changes hands on a valuation alone. The reader is under no obligation, and is told so on the form.
Who it suits
Regional salerooms and specialist dealers who are short of consignments in a category and would rather receive a checked enquiry than a cold call. The site covers silver, books, stamps, coins, medals and probate today, and the first partner takes all six. The openings are geographic, or in categories the site has yet to write about. Tell us what you want and where, and we will say honestly whether the readership is there yet.
