Who we are. Valuation Desk, valuationdesk.co.uk, is operated from the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@valuationdesk.co.uk. This policy is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 and should be reviewed by a solicitor before the valuation service launches.

What we collect now

The newsletter. If you subscribe, we hold your email address to send the letter. The lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw it with the unsubscribe link in any issue, and we delete the address when you do.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are read. IP addresses are anonymised and no advertising features are enabled. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.

The contact form. Your name, email address, optional phone number and message are stored so we can reply, and deleted once the conversation is finished. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in answering you.

The partners waiting list. Business and contact details given on the partners page are stored so we can discuss the programme with you. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in the enquiry you made.

Page views. Each page sends a count, with the page address only, so we can see which guides are read. No cookie, no IP address and no personal data are stored, and the count is not sent if your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on.

The tools. The hallmark identifier and scrap calculator run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.

What we will collect when valuations launch

The planned valuation service will ask for photographs, a description, and contact details, and will pass them to one partner saleroom or dealer that covers your category and area. That transfer will only happen with your explicit consent, given on the form, and this policy will be updated to name the class of recipient, the retention period and your rights before the service opens.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Write to hello@valuationdesk.co.uk.
